Day 7 - yesterday - went to my favourite restaurant in Otaru -
海石榴  which situated at Otaru Chikko (the JR station where you could find Otaru Hilton and an outlet. You just walked to the waterfront instead of the mall, then you'll see on your right hand side some buildings)

this uni sashimi was only 9XX yen - and very delicious

You only pay 2100 yen (around HK$130) for this very mouth-watering O - Sashimi set. This set was our favourite, we usu just order the set and add some sashimi (this time, the uni above)

We also went to the outlet - the pants below were only 1050 yen
really - , yes, really great bargain - also found myself an outfit made in Japan but size 42 too small for me and size 44 too big  - fat person like me can never find business attire in Japan

After lunch, we had to rush back to Sapporo to take the bus to Noboribetsu 第一滝本館 - but before that - rushed to Dimaru's supermarket to get some dessert

Akairibon's pudding was more creamy than LeTAO's

the room we got for 第一滝本館 was smaller and smaller while the price sky rocketed. We paid 26XXX yen for two pax for buffet dinner (we used to eat in room when we paid that price) - and the hotel had commercialized greatly, you could watch this TVB Dai-fu there (but the shows were all junk
 )....

eee - but we got a small token from the hotel - cypress ball to be put in drawer

see the dining hall - my best friend said that it was like prison ....

but the problem for me was the food   ......
- the only thing good about that was that I got to eat more vegi (the aspargus was OK, and so were the stew stuff and pudding , the beef (or steak?) was actually quite GOOD!! , just DO NOT try the crab, the sashimi, sashimi don, fruits ...)

below are the shops that we would patronise (in addition to 第一滝本館's shop).

the unique selling point about 第一滝本館 is that it has a multi-variety onsen- just trying all of the onsen (Beauty Onsen, hot onsen, healing onsen, foot onsen,  lying onsen, bubble onsen, waterfall onsen...) requires at least half an hour - and for this, we'll most probably return. We did try the in-door dinner package but the food was just so so and hubby prefered the buffet package (which charged a lower price), but next time, we would either booked a room without meal, or we might go to Grand Hotel.

Day 8 - today was train day - was on train from 8XX am till 18XX

had this crab bun from Hakodate (rushed to the market when we transferred to another train) - yum yum

then hubby played with his toy while I read (or worked a bit)

was at 宇都宮 at 1800 - rushed to Mandarake (which was 15 minutes from JR station after checking in - but nothing to see la

As 宇都宮 was known as the city of dumpling - we of course tried Ramen and dumpling - the shrimp-pork dumplings were good - so were the Shichuan Ramen and the cold Ramen
, we had three servings of dumplings and the bill was 3XXX yen - quite expensive - uh -

time for some commercials - this Ba-yu shampoo was hope for balding men (or so hubby thinks) - esp for those who had dandruff problem - hubby used that last year at Noboribetsu and found that useful only after we left Hokkaido - he had been whispering in my ears about needing to go back to Noboribetsu to buy that ever since - the stuff was very very heavy AND expensive  - but should worth trying as hair was the pride of men

I almost bought one for hubby's and my other best friend but remembered that our friend's problem was that he got oily hair (ba-yu might add to his problem... and might not help his balding problem at all ) - hence, for those who had oily hair , better try it before buying that ....
