My hubby and I had just been to Macau in Feb. We do not gamble, and Macao's main attraction for us is food
Robuchon - we can never afford to go there for dinner but lunch occasionally should be managable.... I took the 2 course meal while hubby took the four course meal....
(highly recommended - lunch around $300 - 500 pax, depending on no of courses taken)
complimentary 開胃菜
Wow - this is the pick of the day - smoked foie gras with potato - wish I could have another serving
quail stuffed with foie gra again
seabass
魔鬼魚
dessert trolley- you can pick 3 dessert plus 1 sorbet
dessert - Napoleon (you could find poppy seed in the vanila creme)
sour cherry sorbet (I like the exotic fruit sorbet better)
Dinner at 峰景餐廳 - we met this lovely sunset when we walked there (hubby suggested taking bus, hence, had to walk a long way) . See, even your hubby is a miser, there are benefits attached.
峰景餐廳 (the former 誠昌 at 官也街) used to be my favourite restaurant becasue of its crab congee. the congee was still "good" but with a lot of MSG.
Strongly recommend you to pass this restaurant, esp if you are allergic to MSG. It is not conveniently located anyway. DO NOT GO there
Fortunately, Man U won the game and that the 蝦子撈麵 and 錦鹵雲吞at 六記 were still good - highly recommended - esp the noodles
Day 2 - As usual, we gave up breakfast at hotel and went to have Breakfast A
at 盛記
魚容燒賣, 蘿蔔糕 n 白粥 (it is difficult to find such turnip pudding in HK.)
and breakfast B at 三元粥品 hubby likes the meat (pork) ball there, said it was the taste he used to when he was small
actually we did go back to hotel to have "breakfast". I had some water melon and hubby "took away" a banana...... greedy couple
Then, we went to 沙利文 to have curry crab and vegetable soup - yummy also good, but I guess there are lots of equally good portugese restaurants in Macao.
We then stroll along 古董街 and bought some pre - cultural revolution figurine - we will have to postpone our retirement date again because of this - then we went to 榮記 while our goods were wrapped
yum yum
後記: When we were in our twenties, I would drag hubby (then bf) to go sightseeing whenever we were on a trip. Now, we really rest - just good food, some sight seeing, some shopping and rest. As for Macao, we have been to most places and hence, we can skip the sight seeing part. that two-hour nap was one of the best naps I ever had and showed how tired I was. Why couldn't we have 40 hour week? I thought I was having around 70-hour week and obsersved that some bloggers have such long working hour too. I wish to redeem my life asap - not by power, money.... but by Grace and my willingness to forego the unnecessary things (stop shopping la 農婦) ... but of course, this is easier said then done.
