名牌?? 我不希望做一個追名牌族－夢想出走、夢想吾撈、夢想美食

Went shopping for discounted business attire yesterday - to prepare for my new job after Aug.

Shopping for clothing is a very tiring activity for me and I always call business attire 囚衣 with a price tag.

If I had the choice, I would wear t-shirt and trunk and sneakers all the time

Luckily, boss and an intern went with me and this became a chit-chat experience. still... found nothing, and I had to use my usual trick - go to my usual shop - 沽咖哩 (Cour Carre) and asked them to find me all suits of size 44, and buy those that did not look too bad on me- the whole process took less than 1 hour but cost $XXXX (

with those money, I can buy >100 good books, CDs, toys..... )

Why are people so keen on buying branded stuff??

(OK, I know we all need some "行頭" - but some should be enough, not to pursue that at all cost la....... )

Don't people think that buying a cotton bag which you know you'll probably not use in one year's time very ridiculous?? (I have never heard of anyahindmarch and do not know that it is a luxury brand. It happened that one of my friends is a VIP of this Anyahiindmarch and the shop reserved TWO bags for her (yes, no queuing). the bag is OK but why should people queue for >3 hours on a hot summer day or pay $>one thousand for that?? which actually costs around 8 pounds.???

the other ridiculous thing is polo shirt - don't people think that the over-sized polo logo ridiculous??

sorry for the grumbling..... just that I went to Ocean Centre today (to buy ticket to Studio Ghibli

(Wow, the tickets are very expensive, 20算!!! ($130 pax !!! for a 1000 yen ticket), and passed many many brand name shops and wonder why there exist such thing as "luxury goods"....... I think I would rather have the "luxury" to read and not work on a weekday afternoon than to have lots of "luxury" goods....
