Woke up early and went to 函館朝市 to have breakfast,きくよ食堂  I had the usual 3-color don and hubby had the dual color one - yum yum yum - (I tried other 食堂 but consider this the best. Also had squid sashimi. total bill - around 4500 yen - but it was worth the price

. Then we went shopping at the market and tasted a slice of very very delicious water melon (for only 100 yen) - would take more if we were not soooo full.

then, we took the 特急スーパー北斗 to Sapporo. Hubby almost slept through the whole journey, leaning on me, and I just took in the scenery outside - starting my green therapy - weather was fine and heart was light and thankful - for having the long vacation, hubby by my side and the resources to enjoy the trip - the best mood to have during a trip

the momo (peach) had ripen considerably and they were now very delicious. Believe it or not, the whole bag contained momo when we left Tokyo, and now there was only 7 left

We walked from station to 大通公園 - guess what that was - yes, doraemon with a dinosaur, but the lavender on Doraemon just wilted

then, patronised the どんぶり茶屋 at 二条市場, - this sampler was good (esp the scallop, and crab - but the gem of the sampler - the crab soup....

 it was sooooo good that we ordered another bowl ...

and we passed through 狸小路---- never like this tourist spot much - as it is kind of boring - but we would pass that anyway - on our way to our toy shop and Donki (for the discounted tea)

had dinner at 冰雪之家 - which is at  薄野 - a word about having crab in Sapporo - if you are choosing among 冰雪之家/ 蟹將軍 or 蟹蝦合戰 - I would recommend 冰雪之家 - it provided you with 6-7 year-old king crab. For 蟹蝦合戰 - for the all you can eat set - you have to have lots of so so dishes - and I note from travel books that Ka-ni Shogan only provides small king crab for set .....

this was bigger than it seemed - just note its size compared with the teapot

the red bean was from 十勝 - very very good

great news!!! For 一舊雲, hubby invited you to join us in our next trip to Hokkaido - he said that except for the normal breakfast at Toyoko Inn (just rice dumplings and miso), all our meals should be OK for you......
