Day 1 - as usual -
Lunch at Robuchon
recommended bread .... sundried tomato roll and baquette with bacon
have vowed never to have french foie gras (due to animal welfare issue), but cheapy us still ordered this pate ...hope to be able to start that from next financial year.. i.e. 1 April 2008
the pate is really good ... with a special aroma from wine/ foie gras and herbs blended together...
they only gave me the toast when I'd almost finished my pate!!
the genuine fowl was just so so
lamb was just as good as last time - tender and succulent... but the smash potato was just like butter paste ... yuck!!
forgot to take the other dessert plate, which was good. As for mine... the lemon tart would make you think of ... Robertson's jam
Robuchon raised its price ... two sets for us plus water costed $1000... OK... but as the restaurant did not bring us nice surprises anymore... will try a new restaurant next time
dinner at 峰景 (reminder ...never patronise the shop except during autumn and early winter) ... crab was not good enough and they added lots of MSG again... and they raised their price also(soup + eel + vegi = 250)
Day 2 - 何開記 (note: we were staying at Ritz and the breakfast there was not good, this gave us the peace of mind to try other breakfast instead ... ha ha ha if we were staying at Mandarin Oriental ... would most probably be torn between hotel breakfast and good congee outside
